Shyo
A Mac app that keeps private apps, notifications and desktop clutter out of screen shares. The call gets a clean, live copy of your screen; you still see everything.

The problem
Sharing your entire screen on a call shows everything on it: message previews, chats in the background, file names on the desktop, unread badges. Sharing one window is safer, but then you can only show that one app.
The idea
Give the call one window to share that is a live copy of the whole screen with the private parts taken out, and leave your own screen exactly as it is.
What I built
- A native macOS menu bar app in Swift, SwiftUI and AppKit. ScreenCaptureKit renders a live copy of each display with chosen apps, notifications, desktop icons, the Dock and the menu bar left out, and it is shared as an ordinary window.
- Call detection from microphone use through Core Audio, so the window is ready the moment a call starts, and a safety net that hides private apps when someone shares the entire screen from Chrome, Edge, Arc or Brave anyway.
- Its own windows stay out of every capture, menus, popovers and sheets included. Notes come with a teleprompter that follows your voice using on-device speech recognition, and ChatGPT, Claude or any site open inside it.
- Licence keys through Dodo Payments, activated in the app and kept in the Keychain, and in-app updates with Sparkle. One command builds a universal binary, signs it with Developer ID, notarizes it and publishes the update to Cloudflare R2.
- The website in Next.js: real recordings of the app made by a scripted debug build, checkout, magic-link accounts, consent-based analytics, and llms.txt with Markdown pages for AI search.

Where it is now
Version 0.0.1 is live at shyo.app, signed and notarized by Apple, at $9 once for two Macs. The first testers are using it now.
